The Custom Payment feature in Appliance.io gives you the freedom to create and manage your own payment types — perfect for unique scenarios that don’t fit standard tender methods. Whether you’re offering a special in-house payment option, recording external transactions, or simply adding more flexibility to your checkout flow, Custom Payment puts you in control.
📍 Accessing Custom Payment
To get started, open the sidebar and click Settings. Scroll down to Basic Settings, then select Payments. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find the Custom Payment section. If it’s turned off, simply switch the toggle to Yes to enable it. If you haven’t created one yet, click Add Custom Payment to begin building your custom payment method.🧩 Creating a Custom Payment Method
When you click Add Custom Payment, a pop-up will appear with all the fields you need. Here’s what to do:- Upload an Icon – This image represents the payment method during checkout.
- Name – Add a clear title for your custom payment.
- Description – Explain what this payment method is for.
- Custom Field Labels (Optional) – Add extra fields to collect additional info at checkout.
🛠 Managing Your Custom Payments
You’ll see two helpful action buttons next to each custom payment:- Edit – Update the icon, name, description, or field labels anytime.
- Archive – Remove payment methods you no longer use without permanently deleting them.
💸 Using Custom Payment for Refunds
Custom Payments aren’t limited to taking payments — you can also enable them as a Refund option. This adds flexibility when issuing refunds that don’t fit your standard methods.🧾 How Custom Payment Appears on Quotes
When creating or reviewing a quote, your active custom payment method will display beside your other payment options.
This ensures consistency and a seamless checkout experience for your team and customers.
