Optimize and control how your deliveries are scheduled and fulfilled

The Delivery Method Setup in Appliance.io allows you to define how your deliveries operate — from timing and capacity rules to automation and priority settings. It’s designed to help you create a reliable, efficient delivery experience for your customers while giving your team full flexibility and control.

📍 Accessing Delivery Method Settings

To begin, open the sidebar and click Settings. Under the Basic Settings section, select Delivery Schedule.

Click Create New Delivery Method to start setting up your delivery configuration.

A popup will appear, guiding you through all required settings — from basic info to advanced automation rules.

🧩 Step 1: Delivery Method Details

Start by defining the core details of your delivery method. You’ll fill in:

• Delivery Method Name

• Email Address

• Abbreviation

• Available Warehouses

These fields establish the identity of your delivery option within the system and determine where it can be used.

🚚 Step 2: Time & Capacity Settings

This step shapes how your delivery method behaves day-to-day. You’ll configure the following:

• Start Time

• Maximum Drive Time (in hours)

• Default Number of Trucks

You’ll also see two important toggles:

1. Ignore Delivery Cap for Online Orders

Turn this on if you want to allow customers to place online orders even when a delivery day is fully booked. This is highly recommended — it helps prevent lost sales and ensures shoppers never hit a dead end. You can always adjust the schedule or add overflow capacity later.

2. Cut-Off Time

This determines which delivery schedule an order follows based on when it was placed.

Orders placed before your cut-off follow your selected schedule type:

• Same Day

• Next Day

• Custom Lead Time

Orders placed after the cut-off automatically shift to the next eligible delivery window.

⚙️ Step 3: Required for Automation

This final configuration ensures your automated routing and planning run efficiently. Fill in:

• Maximum Pieces per Stop

• Delivery Method Priority Level

• Available Delivery Options

These settings fine-tune your logistics rules and help the system optimize delivery assignments.

When everything is set, click Save.

Once saved, your new Delivery Method will appear in the Select Delivery Method dropdown anywhere deliveries are assigned.

You’ve now successfully created a Delivery Method in Appliance.io — giving your team full control over scheduling, capacity handling, and automated delivery logic.
