The Holiday Settings feature in Appliance.io lets you fine-tune delivery capacities for specific dates where operations may be limited — such as public holidays, special closures, or peak periods. With this tool, you can easily set custom capacities, disable deliveries, and ensure your scheduling stays accurate and conflict-free.
📍 Accessing Holiday Settings
To begin, open the sidebar and click Settings. Under the Basic Settings section, select Delivery Schedule. Scroll down until you see the Holidays section. If it’s your first time here, you’ll notice that holidays are non-recurring — meaning each holiday date must be configured individually. To create a holiday entry, simply click Add Holiday.🗓️ Adding a Holiday
When you click Add Holiday, a pop-up will appear with several fields to customize how the delivery schedule behaves on that date.- Date: Choose the exact holiday or affected date you want to adjust.
-
Capacity Type: You’ll have two options for controlling delivery availability:
-
Overall Capacity: Applies one shared delivery limit across all selected delivery types.
- Choose one or all delivery types
- Set a total capacity that all selected types will share
-
Individual Capacity: Allows you to assign different delivery limits to each delivery type.
- Add more delivery types using Add Delivery Type
- Remove any entry using Delete Delivery Type
- Customize capacity for each delivery method independently
-
Overall Capacity: Applies one shared delivery limit across all selected delivery types.
- Information: Add any notes or context—like “National Holiday,” “Storewide Closure,” or “Reduced Staffing.”
⚠️ Important Considerations
Before finalizing your schedule, keep these key points in mind:- Holidays do not repeat automatically — you must configure each date manually.
- Setting a delivery type’s capacity to zero will disable it for that date.
- Holiday rules override your regular delivery schedule for that specific day.
-
This tool is ideal for:
- Public holidays
- Company closures
- Special events
- Off-peak or peak-day exceptions
- Once a holiday is added, all roles except the Superadmin will be prevented from selecting that date when scheduling deliveries.
