The Sales by Product Report in Appliance.io is one of the most powerful tools for understanding your store’s performance. It gives you a clear picture of how individual products are selling, how much revenue they generate, what they cost you, and the profit they bring in. With this information, you can quickly identify bestsellers, manage your inventory more strategically, and make data-driven decisions that directly boost profitability.
📍 Accessing the Report
From the sidebar, click Reports Select Sales by Product By default, the report shows data from one year back from today. You’ll also see a By Paid Date toggle:- ON (default): Shows data based on when the customer paid
- OFF: Switches the report to delivered date
🎛 Filters & Options
Use filters to refine your report:- Brand
- Location
- Source
- Model Number
- Sales Person
- Condition
- Category
- Custom Product Only toggle → Show only custom products
- Export → Download the report in CSV or Excel format (exports always match your applied filters)
📊 Tiles Overview
At the top of the report, you’ll see summary tiles that give you an at-a-glance performance snapshot:- Total Quantity → Sum of all units sold
- Total Revenue → Sales before costs are deducted
- Average Revenue → Revenue ÷ Quantity
- Total Cost → Combined cost of products (untagged items show $0)
- Average Cost → Cost ÷ Quantity
- Total Profit → Revenue – Cost
- Average Profit → Profit ÷ Quantity
- Total Gross Margin → (Revenue – Cost) ÷ Revenue × 100
- Average Gross Margin → Total Gross Margin ÷ Total Data
